Sree Venkateswara Temple of Cleveland in 2007!!
Sree Padmavathi Sametha Sree
Venkateswara Parabrahmane Namaha
Vina Venkatesam na natho na
nathah Sada Venkatesam smarami smarami, Hare! Venkatesa!prasida
prasida Priyam Venkatesa! prayaccha prayaccha.
Without you, Venkatesa, there
is no other Lord. I always remember you and worship you. Show
mercy to me, Oh Vishnu, and give me all that is good and pleasant.
Oh Venkateswara!
Oh Balaji! Oh Sreenivasa! Oh Govinda! Govinda! Govinda!
These chants have thrilled
devotees’ hearts forever in India and all over the world.
A group of residents of cleveland and Akron, who are devotees
of Lord Venkateswara, have been contemplating the possibilities
of building a Temple for the Lord in the Greater Cleveland
Area for a while. After an initial meeting the group talked
to several members of the Indian community to gauge the support
for such a venture. Delighted to find a favorable disposition,
a project has been started to build a temple that will follow
the religious traditions (as per ‘agamas’) of
Sri Venkateswara Temple of Tirupati, Pittsburgh, and Chicago.
The new temple will be located in the I-77, I-80 and I-271
corridor to be easily accessible to devotees from the Greater
Cleveland, Akron/Canton and surrounding communities. The presiding
deity will be Sree Venkateswara, with adjacent altars for
Sreedevi (Lakshmi), Bhoodevi (Andal), Garuda, Anjaneya, and
Ganesha. The temple will have two well-qualified priests trained
in the Tirupati style “agamas”, and we expect
the attendance to grow to more than 1000 devotees per month.
The temple will fulfill a deeply-felt, long-standing need
and demand for a Balaji Temple in the Greater Cleveland area.
Besides the temple, the complex will include a community hall
with a seating capacity of approximately 250 people. Since
Hindu tradition has always combined religious worship with
music, dance and community service the activities of the new
temple will emphasize the same values and traditions, and
promote Vedic heritage for generations to come. The complex
will serve as a cultural center with a small library (containing
religious books and literature, books on theology, Hindu scriptures
etc), regular bhajans, and classes in religion and performing
arts for children. The devotees are requested to join in this
effort to have a place of worship for Sree Venkateswara in
the most authentic Vedic tradition. Please call (330) 668-1255,
or contact any of the undersigned for more information. May
Sree Venkateswara shower his blessings on all of us! |
